THE HAGUE AFRICAN FESTIVAL PRESENTS AFROBEATS IN THE PARK!

Keep Sunday 14 July free in your agenda because every road leads to The Hague African Festival on this day! Afrobeats in the Park will be the most entertaining edition to date with major performances and Afrobeats loving DJs. Before the main performances at the festival, there are all sorts of great activities that you certainly don't want to miss!

The Hague African Festival rejuvenates and renews, just like its target group and we are happy to respond to that. More and more young people know how to find our festival and we are happy with that. Afrobeats is the trend at the moment and that is why this music is running through the festival as a common thread this year, especially during Africa on the Beach and Afrobeats in the Park sections.

Africa on the Beach in Scheveningen
Of course, the successful Africa On The Beach cannot be missing. Last year, this event on the beach of Scheveningen attracted a record number of visitors and we are sure to surpass that on July 6. A top spot at the events is the African Braai, a social way of barbecuing, where integration is important. You can expect a pleasant and especially swinging afternoon / evening with music from Austin J. skilled in several African music genres. The event is organized in collaboration with Jollove.
Date: July 6 from 2.00pm - 2.30am - Aloha Surfschool, Scheveningen.

FILMS in The Hague Film House (Filmhuis)
Just like in previous years, the Filmhuis, in collaboration with The Hague African Festival and I-Africa, will organize several thematic film nights in June. The film afternoon / evening will take place on 29 June.

AfroBeats in the Park
The name says it all: the eleventh edition of The Hague African Festival is entirely devoted to the popular Afrobeats. In other words, the event promises nice music with creamy African groove. Fun and enjoyment are guaranteed and a nice continuation of our tenth anniversary edition last year in the Zuiderpark Theater and surroundings in The Hague. Thousands of people enjoyed a lot of fun, beautiful encounters and swinging performances during a sun-drenched day last year. The same will happen this year!

The Hague African Festival is in its 11th edition. With two stages at the festival, this also means a promising swinging edition in the Zuiderpark in The Hague. At the Zuiderparktheater and surroundings you can sing along again and dance along with the sounds of big names like the multi-award winning Afro-Pop group Sauti Sol from Nairobi, the Togolese trumpet player Daniel Dzidzonu with his afrobeat, jazz, soul and funk sounds, the ultimate reggae band LDE Tribute Band with 'A Tribute To Lucky Dube', the Guinea kora virtuoso Ba Cissoko and the one & only indispensable master drummer Oké Sène (Senegal) that makes every party an unforgettable evening. Also prominent are DJs and Afrobeats experts Austin J and DJ Erick. In the Zuiderparkktheater, on the large Wakanda Stage, Austin J provides a surprising and swinging end of The Hague African Festival 2019 with compelling Afrobeats sounds between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Talent Internship
During the past ten editions of The Hague African Festival, we have given many amateur groups and artists in The Hague the opportunity to showcase themselves to a larger audience. This year again, a selection will be made of The Hague / African Talent who can present themselves at Jollove Stage.
This year, our African market is once again in the Park and in the Zuiderpark Theater. Here you can buy a wide variety of African items, jewelry and trinkets and get acquainted with the rich African cuisine. Naturally, the Children's Village will also be present. There, the little ones can fully enjoy a variety of activities. New this year is the different photo booths where you can photograph yourself in the most original ways. We will also have cozy picnic sets where you can relax after a lot of dancing and enjoy a drink and a snack.
